VAT rate increase for the hospitality sector

As announced at the 2021 budget, as from 1 October 2021 the VAT rate for the hospitality sector is due to increase to 12.5% to 31 March 2022. Then from 1 April 2022 the VAT rate will return to the standard rate, which is currently 20%. The scope of the reduced rate will not change.

The extended temporary reduced rate of VAT of 5% will end on 30 September 2021.
